About This Feature
Admins can test the member payment experience by setting up a test user and using one of their existing paid Products or Membership Plans.
To simulate a payment without an actual charge, admins can create a 100% discount coupon and apply it during checkout.
How to Test the Checkout Flow
Step 1: Create a Coupon
- In your Stripe Dashboard, go to Products > Coupons
- Click +New
- In the Create a coupon dialog, fill out the information & set the coupon to 100% of the price.
- Click Create coupon.
- Copy the coupon code to your clipboard for later use.
Step 2: Test the payment flow as a member
- Create a Test Member and switch to that Test Member
- Navigate to a Product or Membership Plan Registration page
- Register as a Test Member
- Review the Product or Membership Plan on the Summary page and proceed to Checkout.
- From the checkout page:
-
-
- Enter your payment information
- Apply the coupon code from earlier. The total due amount should now be updated based on the coupon discount
-
-
- Complete the payment
As an admin, you can view this transaction in Admin Area > Products > Transactions. Stripe will send a payment confirmation email, even to Test Members.
How to View Billing History as a Member
View and manage your Test Member’s subscription and billing information by switching to the Test Member’s account and navigating to the Stripe member billing portal.
- Click on the Test Member’s avatar in the bottom left
- Go to My Profile > Account > Billing Portal
- This will navigate to a Stripe page

Important Considerations
- A credit card is still required to test the checkout flow; however, using a 100% coupon will not result in any charges to the credit card.
