What this does
You’ll create products that package learning experiences for members, from self-paced courses to complex cohort-based programs with live events and discussions. You’ll also generate polished, on-brand images for your product covers, banners, and content so everything looks consistent and professional.
What to know first

- Products can be saved as drafts before publishing
- You can create branded images for your product using your brand appearance settings.
How to create a product
- Go to Admin Area > Products or the Learning area.
- Select Add product.
- Choose a template (self-paced, cohort-based, or other format). Templates come with pre-configured apps and settings.
- Fill in some product details:
- Badge and title: The product name that appears to members
- Description: Explains what the product is about

Access: Select who can register:
- Public: Anyone can register.
- Members only: Limited to community members.
- Private: Limited to specific members or groups.
- Invite only: Restricted to invited members.
- Duration: For cohort-based products, set start and end dates.
- Select Save as draft to create the product and open the product dashboard.
- You’ll have the option to use DiscoAI to generate a curriculum as well. More on that here.
How to customize your product
- Organize the left navigation with apps for curriculum, events, resources, and discussion channels.
- On the product dashboard, customize the page by adding a hero banner block, and blocks for events, curriculum, posts, and discussions.
- To manage product settings like product details, pricing, notifications, members, subgroups, and team roles, open the product settings drawer from the overflow menu (three dots). More on that here.
How to create branded images for Product Cover and Product Banner
A. For Product Cover image:
- Open the product and go to Product Settings.
- Under General Details, select the cover image to edit it.
- In the media picker, select Create an image using your brand asset, or open the Template tab.
- Select Create Image. Your brand colors and product title are applied automatically.
- Preview the image and select Use Image.
- Select Save as Draft or Publish Changes.
B. For Product Dashboard Banner Block:
- In the Product Banner block, select the three dot menu in the top right.
- Select Edit Block.
- In the modal, select Create Image Using Template.
- Preview the image and select Use Image.
- Select Save.
How to publish your product
When you’re ready to make the product available for registration:
- Use the button at the bottom of the Product Settings.
- Click on the dropdown arrow to switch between Save as Draft and Publish Product.
- Confirm publishing in the pop-up modal.
That’s it. Your product is now published!
- When published, members can discover, register, or be assigned to the product (for Public, All Members, or Private product).
- If the product is set to Invite Only, only invited members can register.
Common Questions:
Can I customize the branded image template? Where do the brand colors come from?
Not yet. Each location has one template designed for its dimensions and layout. Your brand color comes from Admin Area > Appearance > Theme > Primary Color.
What if I haven't set up my brand?
Each community uses a default theme color if you haven’t set one. Updating your brand color won’t regenerate existing images.
