How sources work

Disco AI pulls from both internal and external sources to generate responses.

Internal sources:

  • Courses and collections
  • Uploaded documents in your media library
  • Video content (live or uploaded)
  • Disco Channel messages
  • Slack Channel messages
  • Community feed posts
  • Member profiles and custom fields

External sources include:

  • Public URLs you add manually
  • Entire knowledge bases from platforms like Notion, Zendesk, or Pylon (must be publicly accessible)
  • Web search results (web search can be set globally for AskAI; For other tools, you can enable it at the time of generation)

You can choose which sources Disco AI uses for each tool.

Disco’s AI Data Usage Policy

Disco only uses the sources you provide to generate AI responses in your workspace. Your data isn’t sent to model providers like OpenAI or used to train their models.

AI responses are created in real time, based on your specific sources. These sources stay isolated to your account. They are not accessible to other customers or used in other Disco workspaces.
