About This Feature
Channel notifications allow channel members to stay updated on relevant activities and discussions. Members can customize the types of notifications they receive for each channel to suit their preferences.
How It Works
For each channel, members can choose one of the following notification preferences:
- All Messages – Get notifications for all new messages.
- Replies & @ Mentions (default) – Receive notifications only when someone replies to your message or mentions you
- No Messages – Turn off notifications for the channel entirely.
How to Adjust Channel-Specific Notification Preferences
- Open the desired channel.
- Click the 3-dot icon (⋯) in the top right and select Manage notifications.
- Choose your preferred notification setting.
- Click Save to apply your changes and close the settings.
Important Considerations
- Notification preferences are set on a per-member basis. Each member can configure their notification preferences. An admin cannot override members' notification preferences.
- If a member is mentioned using @name or @channel, but their notification preferences are turned off, they will not receive a notification.
- Notification preferences can be managed from both desktop and mobile. These preferences apply regardless of the platform.
