About This Feature

The Member Directory App boosts connections by allowing admins to showcase different groups of members for different purposes, such as highlighting staff, mentors, or specific cohorts. This app makes it easier for members to find and connect with members in their interested groups.

 

How It Works

Admins can add multiple Member Directory Apps at the community or product level, each configured to spotlight members from a specific group. For example, a directory labeled "Mentors" could be set up to showcase members of the “Mentors” group.

Each app can be made public to the entire community or kept private, accessible only to selected members or groups—ensuring the right audience sees the right people.

Within each Member Directory, users with access can filter, sort, and search members by role, group, or profile field, making navigation intuitive and efficient.

 

How To Create a Member Directory App

In the community:

  1. Select the “+” icon in the top right of the left navigation.
  2. Select “Add App”.
  3. Choose the “Member Directory” app.
  4. Customize the name, icon and adjust the access settings.
  5. Select a group. Only Members in the selected group will appear in the directory.
  6. Click “Complete Setup”.

In a Product:

  1. Hover over the product where you want the app set up, select the “+” icon.
  2. Select “Add App”.
  3. Choose the “Member Directory” app.
  4. Customize the name, icon and adjust the access settings.
  5. Select a group. Only Members in the selected group will appear in the directory.
  6. Click “Complete Setup”.

 

Important Considerations

  • Multiple Member Directory Apps can be created within the community or within a single product. This can be useful when looking to feature different sets of members.
