What This Does
You’ll make your live events available on demand by adding a recording after the event ends. This helps members who couldn’t attend live and lets attendees revisit the content anytime.
What To Know First
- Admin access required for community events; product manager or instructor access required for product events
- Recordings can be uploaded manually or auto-uploaded from Zoom
- Auto-upload works only for Zoom cloud recordings
How to Upload a Recording of a Live Event
Option 1: Auto-Upload Zoom Recordings
If auto-upload is enabled, Disco can add the recording for you after the event ends.
- Connect your Zoom account
- Go to Admin.
- Select Integrations.
Select Connect Zoom and follow the prompts.
- Enable auto-upload
- In Integrations, select the cloud upload icon next to your Zoom account.
- This allows Disco to automatically upload Zoom recordings after the event ends.
Notes:
- Only recordings saved to the Zoom cloud are able to be auto-uploaded.
- If Zoom processes multiple recordings, Disco uploads the longest recording that overlaps with the event time.
- If the Zoom meeting ends early, wait until the Disco event time ends for the recording to appear.
- Processing time for a recording depends on the length of the event. Disco will auto-upload once the recording has been processed by Zoom.
- Once processing is complete, the recording appears in the event automatically.
- The transcript for the recording is not automatically generated. Admins/product managers need to generate the transcript to make it visible to members.
Option 2: Manually Upload a Recording
- Save your recording
- Record your live event.
- Save the file to your local device or cloud storage.
- Open the event
- After the event ends, open the event drawer.
- Upload the recording
- Select Upload Recording.
- Choose your video file.
- Notify your audience
- Choose whether to send an email notification to the selected audience.
- Select Upload recording to finish.

What is the maximum file size for uploaded recordings?
Each video must be 2GB or smaller to ensure the best member experience.
