Update Member Account Email Address

About This Feature

Members can update the email address used to create their Account Profile directly from their Account Profile.

 

How It Works

There are two ways to update the email address associated with your Disco Account Profile. The relevant one depends on how the Member logs in to their Disco member account: Google SSO, Apple SSO or the email/password flow.

 

How To Update Account Email Address: Google SSO/Apple SSO

Using Google SSO or Apple SSO to log in to your Disco member account impacts how you update your email address. You must first 'unlink' your Gmail or Apple email address by resetting your password. Then, proceed to update your email address.

  1. Log in to your Disco member account using Google SSO or Apple SSO
  2. When signed in, click the avatar at the bottom left of your screen, select My Profile
  3. Navigate to the Account tab > Profile Settings > Update Password

This will initiate a password reset, which is required to 'unlink' your original Gmail or Apple email address. Once you have reset your password, your Disco account login will be unlinked from Google or Apple. 

Proceed with updating your email address.

How To Update Account Email Address: Email/Password flow

When signed in, members can update the email address used to create their Disco Account by clicking the avatar at the bottom left of their screen.

  1. Log in to your Disco member account using the existing email address and password
  2. When signed in, click the avatar at the bottom left of your screen, select My Profile
  3. Navigate to the Account tab > Update Email

Important Considerations

  • When Using Google SSO or Apple SSO, you must first 'unlink' your Gmail or Apple email address by resetting your password. Then, proceed to update your email address.
  • Members must first log in using their existing email address to update it.
  • Disco requires you to access the email confirmation link while logged in to the Member account you requested the change from.
  • Open the change email link from the device/browser you initiated the request.

Q: Can an Admin update a Member's email on their behalf?

A: No, Member email addresses can only be updated by the Member after signing on.
