Managing Disco AI Sources

What This Does

You’ll improve the accuracy and relevance of Disco AI by managing the content sources it uses to generate answers, content, and insights.

What To Know First

  • Admin access required
  • Internal sources are automatic and cannot be edited
  • External links and knowledge bases must be public and crawlable
  • Links process within a few minutes, depending on content length

How to manage Disco AI sources

Disco AI draws from two types of sources: internal content already within your platform and external data you can add manually. The Sources page is your control center for managing both.

Internal sources (automatic)

These are not editable but provide valuable input across all AI tools:

  • Content: Learning materials from courses and collections
  • Documents: Uploaded PDFs and media library files
  • Videos: Uploaded videos or event recordings
  • Disco Channel Messages: Conversations from community/product channels
  • Slack Channel Messages: Conversations from selected Slack channels
  • Feed Posts: Public feed content used for shared knowledge
  • Member Profiles: Custom fields that personalize outputs

External sources (manually added)

These expand Disco AI’s knowledge using public content:

  • Links: Individual, publicly accessible URLs
  • Knowledge Bases: Public-facing spaces from tools like Notion, Zendesk, or Pylon

You can customize source usage per AI tool where supported.
