About This Feature
Apps are the core building blocks of your community spaces and learning products. Disco offers a variety of app types, including curriculum, collection, feed, channel, events, content, external links, and integration embeds for your favorite tools. These apps help you design engaging member experiences and connections for true transformation.
How It Works
Apps are the modular building blocks you add into your community area and learning products.
With Apps, you can:
- Create community spaces for discussions, events, content collections and more.
- Build learning products like courses, circles, coaching and more.
- Set access to define what members or group of members can see an app.
- Use blocks associated with apps to create your community home and custom product dashboards.
There are nine types of apps:
- Curriculum(Only available in Products)
- Collection
- Events
- Feed
- Channel
- Content
- Link(Custom, Product Link)
- Embed(Custom, Typeform, Calendly, Figma, etc.)
How To Add an App
To add an App in Community area
- Select the “+” icon in the top right of the left navigation
- Select “App”
- Choose an option.
- Give the space a name, icon and adjust the access.
- Click “Create”
To add an App in a Product
- Select the “+” icon in the right of your Product of the left navigation.
- Select “App”
- Choose an option.
- Give the space a name, icon and adjust the access.
- Click “Create”
Done! Now that you’ve added your App, you can drag-and-drop to organize it above or below other apps and/or between Sections in your Community area.
Important Considerations
- When adding Apps, the curriculum app is only available in Products.
- Currently, only one “Event” app exists in the Community Area. For Products, you can add one Event app, per product.
