About This Feature
Discussion Channels in the mobile app serve as the main spot for all chats within the community and products. This feature enhances user engagement by allowing users to join conversations on the go.
How It Works
Disco Discussions are made up of two key parts:
- Channels: Spaces where all members of a channel can chat together.
- Threads: A collection of all the conversations you're part of across various channels.
How to use channels using the Global Actions button
Step 1: Tap the blue button at the center of the bottom navigation bar; from the list, choose “New Channel Message.”
Step 2: Select the destination channel where the message would go. Use the search bar to find a specific channel quickly.
Step 3: Type the message into the text input box and press send to join the conversation. Tapping on the channel name opens the list of conversation members.
How to use channels using the Chat Center
Step 1: Tap the chat icon at the 4th place of the bottom navigation bar. Switch to the middle option for “Channels” using the top switcher.
Step 2: Select a channel from the list of available channels.
Step 3: Type the message into the text input box and press send to participate in the conversation. Tapping on the channel name opens the list of members in the conversation.
Important Considerations
Members can send messages only to pre-existing discussion channels they have access to. To create a new channel, please use our desktop platform.
