About This Feature

Groups in Disco are designed to streamline community management by organizing members into segments. There are three types of Groups:

  1. System Groups are automatically generated by Disco when a new Product is created, including all registered members for efficient bulk communication.
  2. Custom Groups allow assembling Members based on criteria like geographic location or shared interests, serving as a foundation for personalized community engagement.
  3. Subgroups are created at the Product level for targeting Events or communications to a specific group of Members registered for a Product.

How It Works

Disco's Groups feature automates community segmentation through System Groups. Custom Groups and Subgroups are manually created to segment the community further.

 

How To Create a Group

Creating a Custom Group

1. Navigate to the Groups Section: Access the 'Groups' option from the 'Members' tab in the Admin dashboard.

2. Initiate New Group Creation: Click the '+Group' button.

3. Define Group Details: Enter a name for your Custom Group.

 

Organizing Members into Subgroups

1. Select a Product: Choose the Product for the Subgroup.

2. Initiate Subgroup Creation: From Product Settings, select 'Sub-Groups'.

3. Create the Subgroup: Click '+Add New Sub-Group', name the Sub-Group, and click 'Create Sub-Group'.

 

Important Considerations

Permanence of System Groups: System groups, auto-generated for each Product, cannot be removed independently. Deleting a Product is required to remove its System Group.
